Net Zero verification in practice
Learn about the very first projects verified as Net Zero Carbon Aligned since the standard launch this summer with Katie Clemence-Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard. We’ll also learn about the verification process and the practical experience of verifying a building.

 

Overheating and planning

Find out about London’s first heat plan, Heat Ready London with Holly Smith, Project Manager (Climate adaptation), Greater London Authority. Launched this summer by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, we’ll be digging into the strategy to protect communities with cooling spaces, shade, resilient homes and emergency response.

Viability & climate: Making the investment case for resilience
How to make the case for investment in climate resilience at a time of challenged viability?
Olivia O’Brien, Head of Climate Resilience, Civic will be exploring when long-term risk precludes short-term thinking and how to account for it including why it’s essential to take a place-based approach and embed a climate risk assessment into early decision-making.

Policies for nature and new levies, explained
Everything you need to know about the Nature Restoration Fund, Environmental Delivery Plans, changes to Biodiversity Net Gain and more in this relevant policy for nature round-up by Alexa Culver, Legal Counsel, RSK Wilding.

Case study: Flood resilient urban landscape at Beckenham Place Park East
Beckenham Place Park East transforms 17 acres of flood-prone parkland to protect 400 properties and bring local people to the park. Learnings from the award-winning project, from maintenance to funding models, heritage to climate resilience.
