The Northern Ireland Housing seeks proposals for a mixed-use development at Hope Street [Deadline 11 February 2026]
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive seeks a developer interested in delivering high quality proposals for a two-acre site on Hope Street in Belfast.
The area has recently undergone significant investment with the newly completed Belfast Grand Central station and Weavers Cross regeneration scheme.
The project must be residential-led and provide multi-tenure housing (social, intermediate and private homes) with limited commercial space (10%) and public realm that promotes active travel.
Five key objectives have been set out for project: permanent residential homes for all, exemplar green spaces provided for health and wellbeing, integration with city-wide networks promoting active travel, sustainable and resilient design and commercial activity that stimulates economic growth and employment opportunities.
The estimated site value is £3.85 million. The evaluation criteria is broken down as design proposals (35%), price (30%), energy performance strategy (14%), stakeholder engagement (14%) and development programme (7%).
The Housing Executive is negotiating with the Department for Infrastructure regarding adjacent land.
